Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Ebbly app and getebbly.com collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Ebbly is built so that your health log stays on your device unless you choose otherwise.
The short version
- Your doses, weight, food, side effects and notes are stored on your device.
- If you turn on backup, an encrypted copy is stored in your account so you can restore it.
- We never sell your personal information and never use your health information for advertising.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings.
Information you give us
- Health and wellness entries: medication name, dose, injection date, time and site, weight, body measurements, progress photos, meals and nutrition, water, steps, side effects, hunger and food-noise ratings, mood, energy, sleep and notes.
- Profile details: height, goal weight and the answers you give during setup.
- Account details (optional): if you sign in with Apple or Google to back up your data, we receive an account identifier and, if you share it, your email address.
- Support messages: anything you send to support@getebbly.com.
Information collected automatically
- App usage and diagnostics: which screens are opened, crashes and performance data, device model and OS version. This data does not include your health entries.
- Purchases: subscription status from Apple or Google, processed through our subscription provider. We never receive your card details.
Apple Health and Google Health Connect
If you allow it, Ebbly reads and writes data such as weight, steps, nutrition and water with Apple Health or Health Connect. This data is used only to provide features inside Ebbly. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as needed to provide the features you use.
Meal photo scanning
When you scan a meal, the photo is sent securely to our server and to an AI service provider to estimate its nutrition. The photo is processed to return a result and is not used to train AI models. We do not keep the photo after the result is returned. The resulting nutrition entry is saved on your device.
How we use information
- To provide the app’s features, such as your daily plan, reminders, charts and reports.
- To back up and restore your data if you turn on backup.
- To manage your subscription.
- To fix bugs and improve the app, using usage and diagnostic data that excludes your health entries.
- To reply to support requests.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Ebbly, under contracts that limit their use of it: cloud hosting and backup, AI meal analysis, subscription management, and crash and usage analytics. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Backups are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your device with a passcode. If a breach affecting your health information occurs, we will notify you as required by law.
Retention and deletion
Data on your device stays until you delete it or delete the app. Backup data stays until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all backed-up data from Settings, or by emailing support@getebbly.com. We delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Washington residents and others covered by consumer health data laws may also have rights over consumer health data. To make a request, email support@getebbly.com. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Children
Ebbly is meant for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the changes apply.
